Jean Paul Gut is a well-known figure in the business arena. He is a notable figure in three main areas of business. Namely they are strategy, state of the art technology and international development. Mr. Gut graduated from the IEP (Institut d'études politiques), Paris. He obtained his master’s degree from ESCEM (Ecole Supérieure de Commerce Et de Management), Paris specializing in international commerce.
Mr. Gut started his career in 1983 at an age of 22 years, as the export vice president at Matra Defence, which was a subsidiary of Matra group, a French conglomerate involved in a wide range of industries including cars, bicycles, aeronautics and weaponry. In 1988 Mr. Gut was appointed as an advisor to the president of export sales while serving as the Vice President of Export Marketing and Sales. In 1990 he was appointed as the Executive Vice President of International Operations at the defense and space group Matra Défense Espace.
In 1994, Matra group was acquired by Lagardere. A new group was formed as Matra, Hachette & Lagardère. Mr. Gut advanced to the position of Senior Executive Vice President and was responsible for International Operations of the Group, while serving as a Member of the Executive and Strategic Committee and an Advisor to the President of the group. Then he became the Senior Executive Vice President of Matra BAE Dynamics in 1996. In 1998, Mr. Gut was appointed as the Managing Director of the Board of Management of the group, responsible for International Operations and the High Technology Sector.
In 2000, Mr. Gut was appointed as the Executive Vice President of EADS International, the marketing organization of Airbus Group N.V. Then in 2005, he became the Chief Operating Officer for Marketing Strategy and Global Development at EADS group and became the deputy CEO in the same year.
In 2007 he resigned from EADS group and formed his own consultancy firm based in London, catering to European firms which are looking to expand internationally.
